STORY TIME: I love this piece because of the symbolism that came through during a particularly tumultuous time in my life. I made this painting as part of a new collection called "Shift" that came to fruition after the decision to leave the corporate world behind for the creative world. "Shift" was appropriate because of a shifting of career industries along with a total mindset shift.

Being one of the only female leaders in corporate and experiencing verbal abuse and toxicity at the upper levels of male leadership took its toll on me. When I finally decided enough was enough, the decision to leave was insanely liberating and empowering. How many of you can relate?

If you look towards the center left of this painting, you'll see the side profile of a woman, or the "Divine Goddess" as I so fondly call her now. Extend your gaze upwards and to the right of her and you'll see two more subtle faces that are in view. Three faces, together and connected, yet out of sight if you don't know where to look.
This painting to me symbolizes the hidden goddesses within ourselves, and the fact that there are three of them is right on par with Hinduism, or the "Tridevi" which is the collective term for the 3 supreme Hindu Goddesses. Saraswati is the Goddess of Learning, Arts, and Music. Laxmi is the Goddess of Good Fortune and Wealth. Parvati is the Goddess of Power, Nourishment, Harmony, Devotion, and Motherhood, and is also the Mother of Ganesha.

Parvati is also known as "Shakti" which represents the divine feminine energy and the dynamic forces that move through the universe. Shakti, who is responsible for creation and can also be an agent of change, is often manifested to destroy demonic forces and restore balance.
